“Music City USA” … “Athens of the South” … “City of Parks” …“Silicon Valley of Healthcare”  all of these are nicknames that have been used to describe middle Tennessee. With the importance of location, location, location these days, it’s incredibly exciting to see that University Medical Center is located just 30 miles east of downtown Nashville and a simple 25-minutes east of the Nashville International Airport in beautiful Lebanon, Tennessee!

University Medical Center is located in Lebanon, the county seat of Wilson County and is home to approximately 21,000 residents with a countywide population of 90,000. There are over 300,000 residences that comprise University Medical Center's primary and secondary service areas. Lebanon offers a relaxed lifestyle and the charm of a southern historical town while providing access to a multitude of recreational, shopping and professional sporting events throughout the year.

In June 2006, Kiplinger’s surveyed readers to find out what place they would like to call home. Of their 50 smartest places to live, Nashville came in 1st! They wrote, “Southern hospitality. Gently rolling hills with big affordable homes. A mild climate. Oh, yes, and a phenomenal entertainment scene that goes far beyond country. With such an appetizing mix, it’s easy to see why Nashville keeps attracting people from across the nation, including other parts of Tennessee.”

Wilson County is home to the Nashville Superspeedway and University Medical Center is proud to be the Official Healthcare Provider for the NASCAR and Indy Racing League events held at that venue. Lebanon is within a three to four hour drive to Knoxville, Memphis and Atlanta. Lebanon is home to Cumberland University and there are a number of colleges and universities within a 30-minute drive. In Lebanon, you can enjoy the comforts and safety of living in a small community, while recognizing that many cultural and enriching opportunities await within a short distance.

Wilson County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state. The population over the last decade has grown by 31.2 percent and is expected to exceed 107,000 by the year 2010. Lebanon's location and accessibility to I-40 makes it attractive to new and existing business and industry. Lebanon/Wilson County is the home to major corporations such as PFG Lester, Cracker Barrel, Hartmann Luggage, Dell Computers, Toshiba America, and Bridgestone/Firestone. University Medical Center is in the highly competitive Nashville market with over 25 hospitals with approximately 6,000 beds in a 30-mile radius.

With over 70% of the nation’s population located within 600 miles of Nashville, chances are friends and family will live within an easy drive. Easy accessibility to major interstates, an international airport, lack of state income tax on earned wages, low property taxes, temperate climate, and cultural offerings to name a few.

We invite you to come and experience what University Medical Center has to offer…a rejuvenated healthcare facility, quality physician staff, growing population, and of course, “our hometown charm.”
